Equipment: Bulk Actions

In this video we look at the bulk actions tool on the equipment page which enables you to make changes to multiple pieces of equipment at once.

Making Selections

  • Individual Selection: Equipment can be selected one piece at a time by opening a category and ticking the item.
  • Category Selection: To select all equipment in a category, click the tick box at the top of that category.
  • Global Selection: To select all equipment shown on the page, use the blue tick in the filter panel at the top (it's recommended to use a filter first).

Available Bulk Actions

Once equipment is selected (ticked), actions from the "Action" dropdown in the filter panel can be applied to them. These actions include:

  • Move the Ticked Gear: This prompts you to select a new site within your organization to move the selected equipment. This allows for the rapid movement of equipment between different locations.
  • Actions related to lists: These options allow you to:
    • Add the ticked gear to an existing list.
    • Create a new list from the ticked gear.
    • Create a list from the gear and reserve it for future use.
    • Create a list from the gear and loan it out.
    • Create a list from the gear and inspect it.
    • Record the use of that equipment.

Creating a List

When creating a new list, you are asked to provide a name. You also have the option to make the list temporary.

  • Temporary Lists: These are useful for catching up with inspections or reporting when the list is not needed for long-term organization.
  • Deletion: Gearlog will automatically delete temporary lists after 24 hours by default, unless you choose a longer period.
  • Creation: Hitting "create" will jump to the lists tool and create the new list with the selected equipment and then launch the action you chose.
